Odessa Texas - March 2012

This month finds me off to Odessa to stay with my Grandsons, Zach and Drew, while their parents go to Hawaii.  I had such a good time taking the boys to school each morning and picking them up each afternoon. We would stop for a treat at Dairy Queen or 7 Eleven on the way home.

One day the boys and I went to the bookstore for a book Drew had been wanting.  Then we started off on our trip to Midland to eat at one of their favorite restaurants.  How I got lost just going to Midland I will never understand but I did.  I was so lost that I (and Zach) were afraid we would never see Odessa again.  After several hours of wandering around, I finally found my way back home.  We never made it to the restaurant so decided to stop at Red Lobster in Odessa.  This will probably be one of the things my Grandsons remember about Grammy!  Ha Ha.  A few days later Drew said, "Grammy can we try to find the restaurant again."  Very quickly and loudly Zach and I both said, "NO."  It was so funny that we all started laughing.  I love those boys so much and was so glad I got to stay an extended length of time with them.

During my time with them Drew had his school picture made.  He picked something other that what his Mom had left in instructions for me.  I really worried that his picture would turn out bad and it would all be Grammy's fault.  But as you can see it was perfect.

Even though Zach didn't have his picture made; here is one so you can see how handsome he is!

I have the best Son-in law!  Dan knew that I have always wanted to shoot a gun so before they left on their trip, he arranged with one of his friends to take us target practicing.  It was so much fun.  We shot a pistol and a rifle.  I even hit the target a few times.  I really have a new respect for guns.  I hope to buy one so Michael and I can go target practicing for fun.

Dan and Yolanda had a great time cruising around the Hawaiian Islands.

We were glad when Dan and Yolanda made it home safe and sound.  I'm now looking forward to staying with the boys when they go on another trip.

Las Vegas - February 2012

Michael and I decided to take a trip to Las Vegas.  We flew on Spirit Airlines and were very disappointed.  They charge for everything; ended up costing more that if we had flown Southwest,  seat area was very cramped.  Well I guess we learned our lesson.

We loved the sight and sounds of Las Vegas.

Road Trip - January 2012

January was a busy month.

Michael and I decided to take a road trip to Lake Havasu City AZ.  We walked across the London Bridge.  Our hotel was at one end of the bridge with a beautiful view of Lake Havasu.

We took a trip by ferry to Havasu Landing Casino.  We were very disappointed in the casino.  It was nothing like the beautiful casinos we have in New Mexico and Arizona.  The ferry ride was very nice though.

Our room was very nice.  I really enjoyed the jetted tub.  Almost lost myself in the bubbles!

We received a call that my brother, Billie T Howell, who lives in Oklahoma City had a stroke.  We decided to continue our road trip on to Oklahoma City.

We were happy to find that Billie was doing well.  We got to meet his step-daughter and see Wilma, his wife and Debbie, his daughter.

We had a great time visiting with everyone.  We even got Billie's picture box out and looked at old family pictures.
